Collector Customs Peshawar all praise for generation of more tax than last year’s

PESHAWAR: The Collector Customs at MCC Peshawar lauded the efforts of the Customs officials for collecting more tax in August of the current year than August of the previous Year.

The Customs House Peshawar has generated an amount of Rs1236.65million of customs duties in August 2017-18 which is Rs289.10million more than Rs946.79million done in August of previous FY2016-17.

The Customs House Peshawar has showed a growth rate of 30 percent in August of current year with respect to the customs duties collected in August of previous FY2016-17.

The MCC Peshawar received Rs765.15million as Sales Tax on Imports in August 2017-18 which is Rs125.84million more than Rs639.31million done during August of previous Financial Year 2016-17 as ST on Imports.

The Customs House Peshawar has showed an increase of 19 percent in the collection of Sales Tax on Imports during the month of August 2017-18 and August 2016-17.

The MCC Peshawar earned an amount of Rs428.87million of Sales Tax levied as FED vat mode (Palm oil) in August 2017-18 which is Rs223.12million more than Rs205.75million which was done in August 2016-17 from ST levied as FED vat mode palm oil. The collection showed an increase of 15.45 percent in the collection of August 2017-18 and 2016-17.

The MCC Peshawar got an amount of Rs108.48million during August 2017-18 which is Rs14.52million more than the Sales Tax done on value addition on commercial imports during August 2016-17. The Customs House Peshawar showed a rise of 15.45 percent in the collection of ST on commercial imports.

Collector Customs Gul Rahman at Customs House Peshawar has said the MCC Peshawar showed 38.71 percent increase in the revenue collection of CD and ST as FED vat Palm oil and ST on commercial imports in August 2017-18 compared to August 2016-17.

The MCC Peshawar generated subtotal of Rs1302.50million in August 2017-18 compared to Rs939.02million done in August 2016-17 in form of these four taxes. The MCC Peshawar received Rs363.48million more amount than August of Previous FY2016-17.
