Faisalabad Customs fetches Rs825000 at auction of vehicle & lot

FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Auction Cell generated Rs825000 through auction of an impounded vehicle and a lot of an item.

Sources told Customs Today that the Auction Cell collected handsome revenue by auctioning off a non-duty-paid vehicle and smuggled item. The customs stations, which fall under the jurisdiction of Customs Faisalabad, include Sargodha, Sara-e-Muhajir, Mianwali and Jhang.

The Faisalabad Auction Cell held auctions of smuggled goods and the impounded vehicles separately. All the revenue collection was deposited into the account of the MCC Faisalabad.

Faisalabad Customs presented 11 NDP vehicles and 72 lots of miscellaneous items for auction out of which only one vehicle and a lot were auctioned. Rest of the vehicles and lots will again be presented for sale. The vehicle and the single lot auctioned include Toyota Vitz with registration No: AAA-773 worth Rs795000 and the lot valued at Rs30000.

People from various cities have participated in the public sale. Moreover, the customs collectorate already expedited its efforts to collect the outstanding dues from defaulters. Assistant Collector (AC) Syed Samad Hamdani supervised the public sale.
