DC Shahid Jan witnesses demo of New Collectorate Code of newly built Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Collector, Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Headquarters, Shahid Jan visited the Reforms and Automation office at 9th floor, Customs House, Karachi to witness a demonstration on “New Collectorate Code” and functionality of the newly built Islamabad airport.

According to details given by Deputy Collector Shahid that it was a very fruitful visit which was held on 8th of September 2017. He met with a team led by Deputy Director Reforms and Automation Rehan. He said that, during the meeting, he was told that a new Customs Collectorate will be established at the new airport while the old Benazir Bhutto International Airport will also continue its working as usual. The new code of collectorate known as “Collectorate Code” will be developed for goods arriving at the new airport.
Shahid Jan further told that the team of WeBOC has developed its new system for new Islamabad airport while the one customs team is working to develop the new system to synchronise with the new Collectorate code. All the Additional Deputy Collectors, Deputy Collectors and Assistant Collectors will be issued new Collectorate Code to examine the goods which will reach new Islamabad airport while the old Islamabad airport will continue its working for transitional period with the old Collectorate Code to check the goods coming through the BBIA Islamabad.
He said both airports will be working under their own codes for transitional period. The new airport hopefully will be functional in December Financial Year 2017-18.
