“The labour market remained in a state of full employment, with the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate and underemployment rate staying at low levels of 3.1 percent and 1.1 percent in June-August 2017, respectively. Both labour force and total employment continued to record strong year-on-year increases,” said Law Chi-kwong, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare. “While overall labour market conditions are expected to remain tight in the near term, we will stay vigilant to the potential impact of various external uncertainties,” Law added.
