Three ships take berth at port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships M.T IVY Galaxy, M.V Le He and MTN Savanna carrying Palm oil, General cargo and Phosphoric Acid took berths at Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Monday.

Meanwhile six more ships, C.V MASC Esthi, C.V MSC Bilbao, M.T Grand Ace-11, M.T Maran Gas Aclepius, M.T Caspian Gas and M.T Eco Galaxy with Containers, Palm oil, LNG and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 53% on Sunday where a total of nine ships were Bremen Belle, Le He, Tiger Hongkong, MG Earth, MTN Savanna, White Purl, IVY Galaxy, Ginga Hawk and Fortini Lady were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, General Cargo, Coal, Canola Seeds, Phosphoric Acid, LNG, LPG, Edible oil and Diesel oil respectively.

Cargo handling remained during last 24 hours at 108,948 tonnes, comprising 90,422 tonnes import cargo and 18,525 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,784 Containers (TEUs) 809 TEUs imports and 975 TEUs exports was handled at the Port Container Vessel ‘Bremen Belle’ sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while three more ships, M.T White Purl, M.T Ginga Hawk and M.T Fortini Lady are expected to sail on same day in the after afternoon.

Four ships C.V MSC Esthi, C.V MSC Bilbo, M.T Grand Ace-5 and C.V M.T Maran Gas Aclepius carrying Containers, Palm oil and LNG are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Liquid Terminal and Elengy Terminal respectively on Monday, while three more ships C.V X-press Makalu, C.V UASC Al-Khor and C.V Northern Movement are due to arrive at PQ on Tuesday.
