Chief Collector Zeba Hayae visits Faisalabad airport to review anti smuggling activities

FAISALABAD: The Chief Collector of Customs Central Region Zeba Hai Azhar visited Faisalabad airport to check measurements being taken to curb mobiles phone and gold smuggling.

The cheif collector visited all areas of airport and inquired the deputed customs staff about their working. She also met with Airport Security Force (ASF) officials as both departments will work jointly to thwart the smuggling attempts.

Zeba Hayae directed the customs officials to put special focus on Dubai flights because credible information has been received that Mobiles phones and gold would be smuggled abroad through airlines.

Collector Muhammad Sadiq was also briefed that inspection of engineering and catering services entering through gammon gate and especially at the time of sensitive flights may be undertaken as previously ordered.

The collector will also explain the details of huge seizures taken during the current financial year. He also informed about the hiring of premises for conducting activities of the Anti Smuggling Organization. Chief Collector scheduled a meeting at AFU where Additional Collector Ghulam Mustafa, Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan, Assistant Collector Syed smad Hamadani, Fazal Mehmood  was also present on the occasion.
