Customs Court approves remand of accused involved in money laundering

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has approved 14 days judicial remand of the accused, who was arrested in currency smuggling case.

According to details an accused Faisal Hussain was arrested by the customs authorities deputed at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore. During search of his luggage customs team found huge quantity of foreign currency. Accused Faisal Hussain was trying to smuggle currency of Rs 2 million.

Customs team after registering a case of money laundering arrested the accused. Customs team produced him before the customs court for getting his physical remand to investigate more on the issue that was approved by the court.

After completion of the remand customs team produced him again before the court and told the court that all investigations are completed and court may send him to jail.

After hearing the arguments Customs Court approved the judicial remand of accused and send him to jail.
