The NDP goods were seized under the provisions of Customs Act-1969 with the relevant sections of imports/exports for which Pakistan Customs acts as a body to implement the customs bylaws on the borders to eliminate the incoming and outgoing of NDP items via different routes in the Khyber PakhtunKhwa Province.

The sources at the Customs House Peshawar informed Customs Today on Thursday that 13 vehicles are of different models, three Hyundai generators, gents’ suiting cloths, Samsung TVs, cigarettes, welding rods, Gold Leaf cigarettes, pine cigarettes, tyres and other non-duty-paid goods are included in the seizures.

The collector also directed the customs staff to probe the smugglers of NDP goods who cause national exchequer a loss of millions of rupees by promoting the trade of NDP products.

The Collector Customs lauded the performance of all the deputy collectors concerned for such seizures which also serve as a measure to discourage the trade by smuggling.
