Gwadar Customs confiscates non-duty paid goods worth Rs 2.63m

GWADAR: A team of Customs Collectorate Gwadar confiscated various non-duty paid items, including mobile phones, electronic items and many other things worth Rs 2.63 million on Monday morning.

Source told Customs Today that on a tip-off regarding the possible smuggling of non-duty paid items, the Deputy Collector Gwadar Junaid Memood constituted a team of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Gul Ali Baksh. The team, during a search operation, intercepted a truck bearing registration no: KS:0278 which was going to different cities.

During the search operation, the customs team found 100 piece of non duty paid smart phones , 200 piece of fancy electric board and 10 thousand meter imported hard plastic wires and other things .The team impounded all the items including truck which was being used to smuggle these goods and arrested 2 smugglers identified who were later identified as Nasir Hussain and Shakeelur Rehman.

The customs team registered FIR against accused persons and started investigations. Sources said this is the nineth raid of Gwadar Customs during the month of September.
