PARIS: French consumer prices dipped 0.2 percent in September from August, giving a 12-month rate of 1.1 percent, preliminary EU-harmonised data from the INSEE statistics agency showed on Friday.
The result marked a slight pick-up from August when INSEE recorded a 12-month inflation rate of 1.0 percent. It also marginally exceeded economists’ average forecast for 1.0 percent in a Reuters poll. Separately, INSEE said producer prices rose 0.4 percent over one month in August and 2.0 percent over one year.
