Dar for addressing sugar millers’ issues, asks body to finalise recommendations in 3 days

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, speeding up his struggle to address sugar millers’ problems, has directed a newly-formed committee to finalise its recommendations within three days.

The Finance Ministry, in a statement issued to media, said that Senator Ishaq Dar had given instructions to the committee on issues facing sugar producers to have detailed deliberations on the problems faced by the sugar producers and formulate recommendations for consideration at the appropriate forum.

The Minister said that a balance has to be maintained while formulating any proposal for alleviating the problems of the sugar millers. The Minister ordered constitution of the said committee after meeting with a high level delegation of Pakistan Sugar Mills Association at Lahore Saturday evening.

The committee comprises of senior representatives of the Ministry of National Food Security, Ministry of Commerce, FBR and the PSMA. The committee under instructions from the Minister is set to hold meetings from Monday.
