Port Qasim handles 97,405 tonnes of cargo in 24 hours

KARACHI: In the last 24 hours, 97,405 tonnes of goods were loaded and unloaded at the Karachi port.

As many as 79,610 metric tonnes of goods were imported and 17795 metric tonnes of goods exported during the last 24 hours.

Imported goods included 8 tonnes of bulk cargo, 2,701 tonnes of chemical fertilisers, 6,085 tonnes of petroleum, 70,816 tonnes of general cargo and exported goods included 621 tonnes of bulk cargo, 17,174 tonnes of general cargo.

Five ships Seattle, Negoya Tower, Rumanos, Altonia, and Crown Burg anchored. Five ships, Pack Eris, Sit Belayerkis, Kota Kasturi, Everraiselet and Express Eupharates left the port.

According to KPT, five ships are likely to reach the port in next 24 hours.
