Alleged cloth-smuggler sent to jail on 14-day judicial remand

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent an accused to jail on a judicial remand of 14 days on Friday. Earlier, the accused was on a physical remand for three days for investigation. His remand was granted earlier this month.

Accused Khursheed Ahmad was arrested by the customs intelligence. Pakistan customs intelligence started investigation against him and got their physical remand as well. The customs intelligence has also recovered huge quantity of foreign made smuggling cloths and related goods from his possession. The value of the recovered cloths is Rs6.6million.
