Six NDP vehicles, items impounded by ASU on actionable tip-off given by Gul Rahman

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Smuggling Unit of the Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar, following an actionable tip-off given by Collector Customs Gul Rahman, took into possession six NDP vehicles and non-customs-paid goods on Monday. The value of the impounded goods and vehicles is Rs3.5million in the international market.

Collector Customs Gul Rahman gave special directives to all the Customs Departments including Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Customs Airport Staff, Field Investigation Units and all checking teams to take quick and appropriate steps to arrest smuggling of vehicles and items under the Customs Act-1969.

The seized goods, including Pine cigarettes , F/O MP3 Players/USB flash disk complete sets, F/O mobile accessories, polyester cloth, Jersey cloth, F/O cloth, auto parts, Parda cloth, tyres, laptop, Kenmore international cigarettes ,F/O cloth along with other items stored in the State Ware House Peshawar, will be auctioned off to earn extra revenue.

The NDP vehicles impounded include NDP Hino Dumper, NDP Toyota Pickup Datsun, Toyota XLI Motor car (U/WS 157) Toyota XLI Motor Car, Suzuki Motor Car, Suzuki Pickup and Toyota Corolla Car.

The sources said that Collector Customs has initiated a campaign against smuggling in the whole province. In this regard, the anti-smuggling squads have seized the above mentioned non-duty paid vehicles and other smuggling goods. The cases have been registered after impounding of vehicles and items.
