ISLAMABAD: About 145,886 cotton bales exported during first week of current month as compared the exports of the 67,391 bales of same period of last year According the data released by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) cotton arrival in the local markets by the first week of October had registered around 50.88 percent increase as compared the arrival of the corresponding period of last year.
Around 3,991,247 cotton bales had been arrived in local market for ginning as well as for exports compared the arrival of 2,645,349 bales of same period last year.
About 1,678,576 cotton bales had arrived from Punjab Province, which was up by 112.83 percent as against the 788,699 cotton bales arrived during the same month of last year, it added.
Meanwhile, cotton arrival in local markets from the Sindh Province had also registered an increase of 24.56 percent as about 2,312,671 cotton bales arrived as compared the 1,856,650 bales of same period last year, it added.
Out of total arrived crop, over 3,105,925 cotton bales had been sold, where as 145,886 bales were exported so far and 2,960,036 bales were sold to local textile sector, it revealed.
