Adjudication-II recovers Rs 3.56m from M/s Mehboob & Sons

KARACHI: The Customs Adjudication-II has sent a final notice to a defaulter company M/s Raheel Enterprises and recovered Rs 3.56 million from M/s Mehbood & Sons.

According to details, M/s Raheel Enterprises was found involved in the tax evasion. The company imported fancy electric board in August and used wrong PCT. After careful investigations, the Customs Adjudication-II sent the company final notice to clear the outstanding amount of Rs 1.26 million.

Sources told Customs Today that another company M/s Mehboob and Sons cleared a consignment of used computer accessories in mid August and evaded tax amount of Rs 3.56 million, after investigation  Customs Adjudication sent a show cause notice on  September 2 but the company failed to clear the outstanding tax amount.

Collector Customs Adjudication-II Muhammad Javed sent final notice on September 13. After receiving final notice, the company deposited the amount of Rs 3.56 million.

Sources said that newly transferred Collector of Customs Adjudication-II Tahir Qureshi issued five notices to the different defaulters companies. While scrutiny of import data of 10 more companies are in still progress.
