NAB arrests 7 accused in land scam

KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday arrested seven accused persons consequent upon cancellation of ad-interim bails by Supreme Court of Pakistan Principal bench Islamabad.

A NAB statement here said that the arrested accused persons are charged for illegal transfer of precious government land on the basis of fake and fabricated documents in Deh Rehri Bin Qasim Town District Malir Karachi by way of inserting fake entries in the name of non-existing persons and its subsequent transfer in the name of private persons’.

It said that the precious land of 77 acres is worth Rs 385 million.  Reference has already been filed against 12 accused persons.

The arrested accused persons will be transferred to Karachi after legal formalities and produced before the Accountability Court.

Hussain Jokhio, ex-DDO revenue, Bin Qasim Town, Ali Akbar Hingoro, ex-DO revenue, Sabir Hussain, ex-Assistant Mukhtiarkar, Bin Qasim Town, Ali Sher Mirani, ex-Mukhtiarkar, Bin Qasim Town, Nazir Ameen Maqbool, ex- Mukhtiarkar, Nazir Ahmed Malkani, beneficiary of illegal land, the NAB statement added.
