KARACHI: Customs Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi has issued non-bailable warrants of an absconding suspect namely Inayatullah son of Rahman. The suspect was booked for attempting to smuggle 22,400 liter high speed diesel from Iran.
During the hearing, investigation officer submitted that a team of Anti-Smuggling Organization intercepted a Hino truck bearing registration number: TKN-577 and recovered 22,400 liters diesel which was smuggled from Iran through Balochistan for disposal in local market.
He submitted that suspects failed to produce any lawful documents of the said HSD oil, therefore, customs authorities seized it along with Hino truck. He also submitted charge sheet and informed the court that two suspects namely Anwar son of Ghulam Qadir and Abdul Samad son of Abdul Wahab have arrested and were sent to Central Jail Karachi by this court, however, one suspect namely Inayatullah is still absconder.
After his arguments, court accepted charge sheet and issued non-bail able warrants against absconder suspect for next date of hearing, court also directed jail authorities to produce above mentioned arrested suspect before the court on next date of hearing.
According to the prosecution, case was registered for violation of under section 2 (s) 16, 157 (2) of the customs act, 1969, punishable under section (1) read with sub-section (2) of section 156 ibid.
