Project being launched to empower artisans through e-commerce : USF

ISLAMABAD: Universal Service Fund (USF), providing telecom services to un-served areas of the country, would launch a project to empower artisans through e-commerce.

In this regard, the USF, a subsidiary of Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoIT) has sought Expression of Interest (EOI) to hire services of a firm for designing, developing and managing the value chain.

Giving details of the project, official sources on Sunday said a successful applicant would develop a product and undertake Information and Communication Technology (ICT) e-commerce skills of artisans and establish B2B and B2C e-commerce platforms, train, do marketing, branding, designing, and finally develop and manage the value chain.

Well-known companies, firms and consortiums which have a valid GST and Income Tax registration are encouraged to apply by submitting their EOI documents for the project as per requirements of the Fund.

The sources said registration form along with detailed documents can be collected from USF, Islamabad or can be obtained through email at [email protected].

The USF has been established to provide telecom services to un-served and under-served areas of the country, to connect the unconnected and bridge digital divide.
