Mis-declaration: Peshawar Customs’ I&P lodges case against Mediline Technologies

PESHAWAR: The Customs Investigations and Prosecution (I&P) has booked one Khalid Khan of M/s Mediline Technology for mis-declaring the value of skin laser treatment equipment by submitting fake/forged invoices.

Directorate of intelligence and Investigation Peshawar received credible information that commercial invoices submitted by M/s Mediline Technologies, Peshawar for clearance of the skin laser treatment equipments pertaining are forged.

To confirm the veracity of the information, the invoices were sent to the supplier M/s Candela Corporation Boston, USA through email with a request to confirm its authenticity or otherwise. In response the supplier M/s Candela Corporation Boston, USA reported the referred invoices as fake forged and also furnished the genuine invoices issued in respect of the consignment under investigation.

M/s Mediline Technologies, Peshawar (Importer) submitted fake and forged invoices showing therein lesser value of the consignments with malafide intention to evade legitimate revenue of the exchequer. Through this fraudulent act the importer succeeded to deprive the exchequer from legitimate revenue to the tune of Rs4.020 million.
