FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Collector Muhammad Sadiq deliver lectures to the senior management course participants. Collector told the visiting officers in his welcoming remarks about the stretcher and jurisdictions of MCC Faisalabad and the working of Faisalabad Dry Port Trust.
Collector Sadiq briefed about functional operation, aspects concerned with the public service delivery and the topic of fake and flying invoices. The aim of the lectures is to enable senior officers and to understand factors bearing on formulation and implementation of public policy with a view to preparing them for assignments at national policy level.
Collector Muhammad Sadiq elaborated the officers about the ways and means to eradicate the culture of fake invoices bring loss to government exchequer. This lectures and training workshops groom the senior officers for the future in order to tackle services issues.
Collector Muhammad Sadiq said that the Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad was established in 1965 the jurisdiction was districts of Jhang, Mianwali, Sargodha, Chiniot, Sara E Muhajir, Khushab, Faisalabad and areas of jurisdiction.
He said that Collectorate had enhanced anti smuggling efforts increased number of staff and vehicles adding that the Customs Collectorate is also inducted fresh human resources where as the Collectorate made a liaison with Motorway Police, National Highway Authority and local police for joint Seizures.
The participants of course raised various queries pertaining to doing business in Karachi, role of KCCI, law and order situation, and how business community of Karachi will react if Pakistan grants MFN status to India, which were wisely responded by the office bearers.
During their visit Additional Collector Ghulam Mustafa, Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan, Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamadani, Ameer Ali Khan, General Manager Faisalabad Dry Port Trust (FDPT) Amir Majeed, Chief Accounts Officer Amjad Raza and members of managing committee were also present.
