MULTAN: District government has forwarded request to chief secretary Punjab for allotment of land to establish new building of Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Office.
Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has selected land for the establishment of new office building and city district government was informed about proposed land of Customs Intelligence and Investigation office.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan proposed 22 kanal and 12 marlas of land for establishment of new building of Office at Mati Tal Bosan Road. City district government has also ensured Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation that the said land will be allotted to them very soon.
After few weeks proposed land was also chosen by other government department for the construction of office and Customs Intelligence was asked to choose land at other place for the establishment of their dffice. Deputy Collector Customs Intelligence and Investigation Khial Muhammad Khan met Deputy Commissioner Multan Nadir Chatha in his office and requested to allot same land for the establishment of their office. Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation told that Federal Board of Revenue has completed PC-1 for the construction of their office building and if they choose land on other place than they will face further delay in the establishment of their office building.
The Federal Board of Revenue has also allocated almost Rs24 million for purchase of said land to establish their new office building of Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Office.
It is important to mention that Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan is performing their administrative responsibilities in the rental building located near Raja Pur office Multan Bypass. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan is facing difficulties due to lack of space in performing their official tasks in the existing rental building. Customs Intelligence needs big place for carrying out their official routine tasks.
Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Khial Muhammad Khan has convinced the City District Government Multan about the allocation of said land to Customs Intelligence and Deputy Commissioner has also ensured Customs Intelligence for the allotment.
City District Government has forwarded the request letter for allotment of land to Chief Secretary Punjab that they have no objection on allocation of said proposed land. After the approval of Chief Secretary Punjab, Customs Intelligence and Investigation will hold the possession of land after transfer of ownership and construction work will be started very soon for setting of new Office. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan will start construction very soon for the setting up of new official building.
