NAB arrests food dept official

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore arrested an accused, Assistant Food Controller Rana Khizar from Sheikhupura, for making illegal assets worth Rs 56 million beyond his known sources of income.

According to NAB spokesman, a complaint was lodged in the NAB Lahore during 2016 regarding mismanagement committed by the accused in the food department.

The accused, Rana Khizar’s known assets include 66 acres agricultural land in Khanqah Dogran than that of different commercial and agricultural lands whereas, during investigation, it was also revealed that the accused had accumulated assets amounting to Rs 20 million and unexplained deposits remains Rs 36 million in his accounts.

After collecting solid evidences against the accused, the NAB took custody of the accused from Sheikhupura who will be produced before accountability court (tomorrow) for seeking his physical remand for further investigations.
