ASO Islamabad performance has been brilliant during October: Majid

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization Islamabad seized smuggling goods worth Rs06million more in a month than the revenue generated during the 1st Quarter of current Financial Year 2017-18. The Anti-Smuggling Organization confiscated smuggling goods valued at Rs94.56million during October of Financial Year 2017-18 whereas it impounded smuggling goods worth Rs88.19million during the First Quarter of FY17-18.

According to details given by Majid Hussain Gadd, Assistant Collector Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad, while talking to Customs Today that performance of the ASO Islamabad has been excellent during October FY17-18 against the corresponding months of current Financial Year 2017-18. The ASO took into possession 20 offending vehicles during October FY2017-18 while it did seven Non-Duty-Paid vehicles during said period. The ASO seized 47 offending and nine NDP vehicles during 1st Quarter of Financial Year (FY) 2017-18.
Assistant Collector ASO Islamabad told CT that, during October FY17-18, the ASO Islamabad confiscated imported fabric measured 7,432 yards, food grain weighed 11,218 kilogram, 414-kg of tea, 63 tyres and tubes, 8,056 auto-parts, 1,250 cartons of foreign origin fake cigarettes, 718 electric goods and various types of other imported smuggling goods during different seizures.
He further said the ASO impounded above said smuggling goods including seven NDP vehicles priced at Rs76.09million whereas it did 20 offending vehicles valued at Rs18.47million during October FY17-18.
