CIU to take stern action against corrupt officials deputed at Port Qasim soon

KARACHI:  Custom Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Port Qasim Collectorate has tightened the noose around most corrupt officer Naeem Khan. An Important breakthrough has been surfaced during the course of investigation in mega scandal of tax evasion at Port Qasim Collectorate, Customs Today has learnt on Monday.

Appraising Officer, Naeem Khan has emerged as the master mind of the racket involved in clearing servo motors under the garb of sewing machine and parts, investigation of Custom Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Port Qasim Collectorate reavled.

A FIR is likely to be registered against the culprits involved in this mega tax evasion scam by investigation of Custom Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Port Qasim Collectorate in next week.

According to the details, the Chief Collector Appraisement South Abdul Rasheed Sheikh that a racket is active comprising on some importers and clearing agnates in evasion of government revenue by clearing servo motors under the garb of sewing machine and parts with the help of appeasement staff posted at Port Qasim.

After the initial information the chief collector directed Collector Saeed Akram who assigned Additional Collector Yasin Murtaza and Deputy Collector Ahsan Ali Shah to conduct post clearance scrutiny of the consignments with their team.

More, the post clearance scrutiny revealed that the importer namely M/s Eman Enterprises and other  had cleared Acro Star Servo Motors under the garb of sewing machine and parts recently.

Further investigations revealed that it was not the first and only such consignment but in recent time various consignment have been cleared through the help of Appraising Officer Naeem Khan and his co-officers in the return of huge bribe.
