ISTANBUL: Turkey is ready to renew the agreement on the Customs Union with the EU, the Turkish Ministry for EU Affairs told Trend Nov. 14.
The European Union is also interested in renewing the agreement on the Customs Union with Turkey, said the ministry.
Commenting on the prospects for Turkey-EU relations, the ministry said that the problems existing between the parties are related to the fact that the EU applies double standards towards Ankara.
Turkey is the only non-EU country which is in a Customs Union with the EU. The talks on updating EU-Turkey Customs Union started in Brussels on June 13.
