DGTR Director Saima visits Faisalabad to launch training program

FAISALABAD: The Directorate General of Training and Research (DGTR) Customs Lahore Director Ms, Saima Shahzad has visited Model Customs Collectorate to extend technical assistance to the customs clearing agents on newly launched training program.

According to details the director held a meeting with the executive customs official and customs clearing agents to bring improvement in the clearing of their consignment. As many as 135 importers and exporters and customs clearing agent participated in the second training session which was held at MCC Faisalabad.

The Customs officers including Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan, Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamadani, Ameer Ahmed, Fazal Mehmood and Training Resource person Faisalabad Dry Port Chairman Sheikh Mukhtar Ahmed imparted the participants and helped them out on various issues related hazards which importers and exporters usually face in the course of their business.

The training was held basically to train the businessmen and clearing agents in order to make them self sufficient in successfully managing their import and export related issues reducing dependency on agents and to ensure transparency in import and exports clearance.

The training will enable the importers and exporters to know about the exact position of their goods and articles during the course of customs clearance DOT Director Saima Shahzad said that the training session has provided us an opportunity to understand the new automation system and such capacity building session on the part of customs agent and customs official would surely serve the business community.

In her message on the occasion she said that the Directorate General of Training and Research (Customs) has set a goal of training and improving the quality of our manpower by providing the best training environment based on technically most modern capacity training programs and facilities.

The participants who took part in the training included Muhammad Waseem Licensing Branch, Nadeem Iqbal Bhatti import branch, Muhammad Yousaf DTRE Branch and Superintendent Dilawar Hussain.

At the end of the training session Director General Training and Research Saima Shahzad distributed certificates for the completion of successful training.
