Truck loaded with 10 ton Indian red chilli impounded by ASO Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization Islamabad took into possession 10 tons of Indian origin red chilli-seed along with an offending vehicle worth Rs11.40million.

According to details explained by Majad Hussain Gadd, Assistant Collector of Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad, that, on a tip-off, Saeed Khan Jadoon, Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad, got set up a picket at Rawal Chowk and took into possession a truck bearing registration No: MD-XA 358.
After getting no proof of the loaded chilli, the ASO confiscated 230 kilogram of red chilli packed in 50 bags weighed 10 tons valued at Rs10.60million. The item was deposited into a State Ware House (SWH) along with the offending vehicle (vehicle used for carrying smuggling goods), model 1982. The estimated value of the truck was Rs0.8million.
