MCC Peshawar transcends earmarked collection target by earning Rs77m during 20 days

PESHAWAR: The Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar excelled an assigned target by collecting all duties and taxes during first 20 days of November’s Financial Year 2017-18 with an extra earning of Rs77million.

According to details given by sources of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Peshawar that, during above said period, it only achieved the Customs Duty (CD) but failed to meet other targets like Withholding Tax (WHT), Federal Excise Duty (FED) and Sales Tax (ST) during 20 days of November’s Financial Year (FY) 2017-18.
The sources told CT that, during first 20 days of November FY17-18, the Peshawar Customs generated Rs566million of CD while it was allocated Rs459million as CD. It was learnt that the MCC Peshawar was earmarked a proportional revenue target of Rs431million of ST against the revenue collection of Rs419million as ST during above said period.
The source added that, during first 20 days of November FY17-18, the Collectorate of Peshawar received Rs270million of WHT whereas it was assigned Rs286million proportional target as WHT. It was said that Collectorate of Peshawar got Rs10million of FED during 20 days of November FY17-18 while it was allocated a proportional revenue collection target of Rs11million of FED for first 20 days of November FY17-18.
Sources are optimistic about surpassing all the targets as it was performed during first 20 days of November FY17-18.
