FBR chairman hails performance of Customs Central Region

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Tariq Mehmood Pasha on Wednesday visited the Customs House Lahore and reviewed revenue performance of the Central Region, sources told Customs Today.

The sources said that the chairman was given a detailed briefing about the collection of revenue, especially the collection of customs duty, federal excise duty and withholding tax.

The sources said that the Customs Central Region’s revenue collection has increased over 15 percent this financial year from July to October as compared to the same period of the financial year 2016-17.

The sources said that the chairman held meeting with Chief Collector customs Zeba Hai Azhar and other officers of the Collectorate of Customs Preventive and Customs Appraisement.  The sources said that the chairman after reviewing the performance expressed his satisfaction, however, he urged the officers to do more to achieve the target for the financial year 2017-18.

It was added that the chairman visited the customs House and has left for Multan where he will meet the officers and have meetings with the Customs and Inland Revenue officers.
