Quetta Customs seizes huge quantity of hashish, mobile phone worth Rs5.50m

QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation confiscated huge quantity of hashish and several mobile phones worth Rs5.50 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta Irfan Javed received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle hashish and non duty paid smart mobile phones from Quetta to different cities.

He immediately constituted a raiding team. The team in-charge, Customs Preventive Shafiq ur Rehman and others enhanced surveillance on the Quetta highway and started searching of vehicles.

During the search operation, the team intercepted van bearing registration no: ST-62355 which was going out of the Quetta city.

During the checking, the customs team recovered 20 kilograms hashish behind the seats and 50 non duty paid smart phones worth Rs 5.50 million.

The customs team seized the all items and arrested three smugglers including driver. The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta registered an FIR against the smuggler and start investigations.

Earlier the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations seized huge quantity of Iranian juices and Iranian floor tiles worth Rs 6 million.
