Quetta Customs seizes smuggled goods worth Rs113.6m in 19 days

QUETTA: Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Quetta has seized smuggled/non-duty-paid goods worth Rs113.6 million in the first 19 days of December.

The seized goods include non-duty-paid vehicles worth Rs59.04 million, cloth worth Rs6.89 million, tyres worth Rs7.19 million, auto parts worth Rs4.75 million, petroleum products worth Rs6.97 million along with cigarettes, electronics and blankets etc.

Collector Ashraf Ali has expanded the anti-smuggling operations across the province while well equipped and experienced teams have been deputed at several check posts and mobile squads were also active to thwart such kind of monkey business.

Meanwhile, MCC Quetta has achieved 87 percent of customs duty collection in just 20 days of the month, which takes the customs duty collection in the fiscal year to Rs2.029 billion. MCC Quetta is assigned yearly collection target of Rs7.015 billion.

MCC Quetta has achieved 90 percent of sales tax collection in just 20 days of the month, which takes the sales tax collection in the fiscal year to Rs2.88 billion. MCC Quetta is assigned yearly collection target of Rs8.066 billion.
