Customs Peshawar goes surplus by collecting Rs404.53m revenue

PESHAWAR: The Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar (MCC) has showed a collection of Rs1570.41million revenue in 23 days of December during current Financial Year (FY) 2017-18 against Rs1165.88million done in the same time period of previous FY 2016-17, said Collector Customs Gull Rahman in a talk with Customs Today the other day.

The MCC Peshawar, in this regard, has generated Rs404.53million extra revenue in 23 days of December during current FY 2017-18 with respect to a progressive collection posted by all the Customs Stations associated with the Customs House Peshawar against the collection done by MCC Peshawar in 23 days of December during previous FY 2016-17.

The Dry Port Peshawar collected Rs369.40million of revenue in 23 days of December during current FY 2017-18 in which it did Rs150.96million revenue of Customs Duty and Rs135.10million revenue as Sales Tax. The Performance of Dry Port Peshawar has remained good in current FY against the previous year.

The Torkham Customs Station has received Rs541.84million revenue in 23 days of December during current FY 2017-18 in which it has done Rs224.07million revenue as Customs Duty while Rs199.77million has been done of Sales tax during current FY 2017-18. Although the customs clearing activities have been irregular on Torkham Border yet Torkham Customs has maintained its glory by generating more revenue than other customs stations.

In the same way, the Bonded Ware House Peshawar has showed a collection of Rs156.79million revenue as all duties and taxes in which it has got Rs58.58million of Customs Duty and Rs3.881million of revenue collected as Sales Tax in 23 days of current FY2017-18.

The MCC Peshawar collected Rs92.88million revenue from Hazara Customs Station during 23 days of December in current FY2017-18 in which it has done Rs29.11million of Customs Duty and Rs25million has been collected of Sales Tax during 23 days of December during current FY 2017-18.

Collector Customs Gull Rahman expressed satisfaction over the collection posted by all the Customs Stations attached to the Customs House Peshawar during current FY2017-18. He expressed his confidence that, during current year, the MCC Peshawar will comparatively demonstrate more increase in its revenue collection than previous years.
