SHC orders Customs to release consignments

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has ordered Customs Department to release consignments giving benefit of Section 81 to the petitioners.

A SHC appellate bench earlier heard a lawyer appeared for the petitioners Khas Trading and Global Trade Links and relied upon a judgment in case law known as Danish Jahangiri case. The bench after hearing the counsel for respondent Pakistan Customs ordered release of the consignment while legality of circular issued by the Collector Customs denying the benefit of section 81 of Customs Act 1969 to importers.
