Customs starts raiding different areas of Lahore & Gujranwala after arrest of lady smuggler

LAHORE: Customs teams have started raiding different areas of Lahore and Gujranwala after initial investigation from Tereza Hluskova, a lady smuggler who was trying to smuggle huge quantity of heroin.

According to details available to Customs Today on Wednesday a Czech lady smuggler was arrested by the customs authorities from Allama Iqbal International Airport, carrying nine kilograms of heroin. The 21-year-old identified as Tereza Hluskova who was attempting to smuggle the heroin from Lahore to Abu Dhabi.

The woman was in Pakistan on a three-month family visit visa which was issued on November 15 and valid till February 14. Customs officials have refused to hand over the woman to Anti-Narcotics Force officials and shifted her to the Customs House.

According to the airport sources, the woman had crossed both counters of Anti-Narcotics Force before getting caught. The customs teams said that raids are being conducted in different parts of the city as per the information shared by the woman.

Pakistan customs has registered a case under Pakistan Customs Act of 1969 and shifted her to customs warehouse for further process. Sources confirmed that lady smuggler has confessed before the customs I&P that she knew that something was hidden in the bag but she did know about the heroin. She said during investigation that she has already visited Gujranwala and Lahore for three times.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation has started investigation and will present her before the court today for further action.
