Multan Customs I&P lodges FIR against suspect involved in smuggling of hashish

MULTAN: The Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) branch has lodged FIR against suspect who is involved in smuggling of 40 kilograms of hashish recovered by Anti-Smuggling Organization in their action.

According to details, Multan Customs Anti-smuggling Organization staff intercepted a Toyota Indus Corolla vehicle for examination on suspect of non-customs paid during their vigilant surveillance at Shorkot Road near Ada Bara Meel Kabirwala.

The said driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to run away from sight in order to avoid searching of customs anti-smuggling staff. Customs anti-smuggling squad chased the said vehicle after covering some distance where driver left the car and ran away from spot after leaving its car alone to prevent himself from customs and law enforcement staff.

Multan Customs examined the said Toyota Indus Corolla car bearing registration No: A-0253 and they found 40 kilogram quantity of hashish hide inside the vehicle. Customs anti-smuggling squad found the registration book of the said vehicle which was registered against owner Khalid Bashir Butt son of Bhai Muhammad who was resident of Sharki Mangwall Post Office Khas tehsil & district Gujrat.

Customs Investigation and Prosecution Branch searched out the owner of said vehicle and recovered Hashish. During investigation of Customs teams they found close link of owner with recovered hashish.

Meanwhile Customs Investigation and Prosecution branch lodged the FIR against Khalid Bashir Butt in smuggling of 40 Kilogram Hashish.

It was also revealed during initial investigation of Anti-Smuggling Organization that recovered hashish was smuggled from Peshawar and it came into country through Afghanistan. Customs teams lodged FIR no 1/18 against the accused and started raids at various places for the arrest of accuse in smuggling of hashish.
