Customs Peshawar impounds items, vehicles worth millions in 79 executions

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Smuggling Squads of Customs House Peshawar in separate crackdowns have taken into possession non-duty-paid goods worth millions of rupees and shifted them along with vehicles to State Warehouse Peshawar which will be auctioned off during January, said by sources of the Customs House Peshawar the other day.

Different crackdowns were conducted by ASO Peshawar from December 2017 to January 2018 in Peshawar region and NDP goods worth millions in 79 different raids were confiscated by the Anti-Smuggling Units of the Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar.

In the first crackdown, Custom Station Peshawar recovered NDP items valued at Rs156.4 million which included wielding rods 203 cartons, shampoo 121 cartons and Hino truck of total value Rs4.9million. The total value of goods is Rs161.9million.

In the second operation, the ASO Customs squad recovered 13,340 yards of cloth, Isuzu bus and foreign origin cloth. The total value of the seized items is Rs5.6 million.

In a separate raid in Peshawar, the mobile squad recovered 1,586 yards of cloth, Suzuki LET 6811, 10 Samsung TVs of 32 inch, four Samsung TV of 40 inch, cigarette-paper 130 rolls, Pine cigarette 39,600 packs and one Suzuki pickup.

The items also include foreign origin cloth of 7,500 yards, two non-custom-paid cars U/S 157, wielding electrode of 400 kilogram, foreign origin A/S cloth 5010 yards, curtain cloth 470 kilogram, 58 tyres and other seized items valued at of Rs8.6million.

Similarly, mobile accessories and batteries worth Rs1.3million were recovered.
