Chief Collector North gets firsthand info on all aspects of collectorate in indoor meeting

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Collector North Region held a meeting with the Collector MCC Islamabad along with the officers of BS-16 and above for having an understanding on the subject of Customs Collectorate Islamabad.

According to details given by official sources of the Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad that Dr Jawwad Uwais Agha, Chif Collector North, called an indoor meeting with the officials of MCC Islamabad to get firsthand information on all the aspects of the collectorate. The customs officials of the MCC Islamabad told Chief Collector North Region about the history of the MCC Islamabad. They told in the presentation that the collectorate was established in 1981 then reformed in 2009.The jurisdiction of the collectorate comprises Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Jhelum,Chakwal and Attock.
He was informed during the meeting that collectorate’s sanctioned strength is 534 persons while working strength is 524. He was informed about the section-wise strength of the collectorate like AFU Exports and Imports, Bank Guarantee Cell, Unaccompanied Baggage, Rebate Section, Accompanied Baggage BBIA Airport, State ware House and Auction Cell, Recovery Cell, Islamabad Dryport, Preventive Division, Investigation and Prosecution Department, Legal Division, FTO Branch, Administration Branch, Accounts, Treasury Branch, Statistical Branch, General Branch, Hiring Branch and Customs Branch.
The Chief Collector was also informed about the presentation based on revenue analyses of FY15-16, FY16-17 ad FY17-18. Sources added that Chief Collector told about the imports value, one customs and WeBOC. The chief also told about the major imports and exports entertained through MCC Islamabad.
The officials of the MCC Islamabad made presentations to Chief Collector North regarding the MCC Islamabad which consisted of approximately 100 slides. The Chief Collector was apprised by showing the highlights of seizures of Indian origin goods, correspondence with Federal Board of Revenue and other departments and details of legal cases running in different courts.
During the meeting, the Chief Collector was informed about the requirements demanded by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) at the New International Airport Islamabad while Chief Collector was showed a map of the building stucture of the MCC Islamabad.
