FBR cricket team defeats Rawalpindi Strikers Club by 42 runs

ISLAMABAD: The cricket team of the Federal Board of Revenue has defeated Rawalpindi Strikers Club by 42 runs. The friendly match was played at the Junoon Cricket Ground, G-10 Islamabad.

After winning the toss, the FBR chose to bat first. The FBR team scored 193 runs in 20 overs. From the Federal Board of Revenue’s side, Saeed Chaudhry was the prominent batsman who scored 54 runs on 45 balls while Ammar Baloch made 46 runs and Mansoor Akhtar played a good inning with 36 runs on 20 balls.

From Rawalpindi Strikers Club Umer, Usman and Talha grabbed two wickets each. In reply to FBR’s 193, Rawalpindi Strikers Club was all out in 151 runs in 18.1 overs. Usman scored 33 while Yousaf 23 and Umer did 22. They were the main run-getters for the Strikers. Zeshan Aziz was the pick of the bowlers from FBR who got three wickets while Zahid Mahmood and Taqweem Abbasi got two wickets each.

Naveed Ahmed also bowled well for FBR and claimed one wicket. FBR’s Commissioner (HQ) BTB (Broadening of Tax Base) Ardsher Saleem Tariq was the chief guest on the occasion. Ardsher Saleem Tariq congratulated the FBR team on their performance and urged them to help the FBR’s cricket team in future activities. He suggested that the Federal Board’s cricket team should also participate in the national level tournaments.
