Property tax imposed by AJK PPP government: PM

MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister of AJK Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that property tax was imposed by AJK PPP government just seven days before last elections and we had strongly opposed the bill being in opposition.

He was talking to a delegation which called on him at PM secretariat here on Monday. He said the PPP government also imposed the Educational package in its tenure and PMLN being in the opposition benches fully opposed both the bills at that time.

PM Farooq asserted that we took the property tax and educational package into the court however, the court restored the educational package and the property tax also was restored by the court.

He said the PTI also played their role in the passage of these bills as they were the part of PPP government. He observed that ex rulers enforced the property tax on July 16 while elections were held on July 21,2016 just seven days prior to general elections.

PM said that public should ask the ex rulers about the property tax who have become innocent and now they were opposing the property tax.

Raja Farooq said the than Premier Ch. Abdul Majeed and his cabinet ministers and advisors including former finance minister Ch. Latif Akbar, Education Minister for colleges Matloob Inqilabi and Education Minister for schools Mian Abdul Waheed played vital role in imposing the property tax he added.
