Collector Adjudication Asif Abbas hears 10 notorious cases of smuggling

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Collector Asif Abbas Khan heard 10 cases against suspects involved in smuggling of aphrodisiacs (sex medicines), cloths, polyester fabrics and a non-duty-paid prime mover truck.

Abdullah was charged with smuggling of foreign origin Viagra cobra medicine worth Rs8.6million. One Amjad was allegedly involved in duties and taxes evasion of Rs5million for smuggling aphrodisiacs of different brands including 21,608 pills into the country via an illegal route.

Meanwhile, Asif Abbas Khan also heard a case of one Muhammad Younas involved in evading tax of Rs5.3million for importing non-duty-paid Hino prime mover truck bearing registration No: TLA-041 Sibi.

He also heard a case filed against Naik Muhammad involved in a smuggling of Shafoon cloths, tyres and apples of Rs3million.

Moreover, the adjudication collector also heard another case against M/s Niagara Mills Faisalabad involved in a tax evasion of Rs20.1million. M/s Challenge Apparels brought 100% polyester fabrics involving duties and taxes of Rs60.1million into the country. Furqan Butt, accused of 1,667 mobile phones’ smuggling, has also been heard by him.

The value of the smuggled mobile phones he is involved in is Rs6.5million. Afzal Khan involved in smuggling of miscellaneous goods priced at Rs5million was heard by Asif, accused Arif charged with smuggling of F/O almonds worth Rs3.4million were heard by Asif Abbas Khan.

M/s Supreme Tube Indus limited involved in duties and taxes evasion of Rs321.05million also appeared before the court.

All these cases were forwarded by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation and ASO Faisalabad.
