Customs North Region relatively earns Rs770m more revenue than yesteryear’s

ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region generated Rs770million of surplus revenue under all the tax heads against a revenue collection of first three weeks of January FY16-17.

According to details explained by official of the North Region that the North Region, which comprises Collectorates of Islamabad, Peshawar, Sambrial and Gilgit-Baltistan, received Rs2478million of all the taxes while it did Rs1708million during the same period of January FY16-17.
The North Region’s Customs Station of Islamabad generated Rs417.48million more revenue than a revenue collection done during the same period of corresponding FY16-17. The Collectorate of Islamabad collected Rs1261.48million under all the heads during first three weeks of January FY17-18 while it did Rs844.68million under the same head during the same period of previous FY16-17.
The Collectorate of Peshawar got Rs438million extra revenue during first three weeks of January FY17-18. The collectorate received Rs1293million as all taxes against a revenue collection of Rs855million under the same heads during the same period of FY16-17.
The Collectorate of Sambrial generated Rs.-69million extra revenue of all the heads during first three weeks of January FY17-18. The Sambrial collected Rs.-76million under all the heads during first three weeks of January FY17-18 while it earned Rs7.46million under the same head during the same period of FY16-17. During first three weeks of January, the Collectorate of Gilgit-Baltistan remained closed due to blockage of the gateway to CPEC by heavy snowfall.
