“The exhibition, a key event of the Dubai Shopping Festival, is among a few exhibitions in the world to focus on handcrafted silk and wool carpets,” said Abdul Rahman Eisa, Chairman of the Carpet Oasis’ organising committee. The pieces displayed were mostly brought from over 12 famous countries along the silk road. Turkmenistan, Morocco and Uzbekistan as well as regular participant countries like India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, and Kashmir were among the exhibitors. There was also a stand dedicated to showcase local carpet offerings.

The 2018 Carpet Oasis was marked by special activities in keeping with the Year of Zayed theme, organised in cooperation with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
