UAB Islamabad generates Rs3.6m on incoming baggage during July to January 2017-18

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Unaccompanied Baggage Section of the BBIA Islamabad collected Rs3.6million duties and taxes on the incoming baggage during July to January FY17-18.

According to details given by sources of Unaccompanied Baggage (UAB) that, during first seven months of FY17-18, the UAB entertained 887 arrival flights while it received 14% average of passengers per days.
It was told that the UAB received revenue of Rs7.4million through incoming baggage during FY16-17 whereas the UAB did 1010 arrival flights during said period. The UAB received 24.70% passengers per day during FY16-17.
The sources said the UAB generated Rs5.6million of revenue during FY15-16 on the incoming baggage. The UAB received 2,261 arrival flights during said period while it did 11.00% of passengers per day during FY16-17.
It was told that the UAB received Rs6.1million of revenue during FY2014-15 whereas the UAB did 3,393 arrival flights during said period. The UAB received 7.48% of passengers per day during FY14-15.
