Slain Customs official Qasim will be laid to rest today

QUETTA: One customs official Mohammad Qasim who as killed in a firing incident early Monday morning in the outskirts of Quetta.

Sources told Customs Today that Mohammad Qasim was travelling in a car bearing registration number QSD-2652 when unknown assailants opened fire at the vehicle near Sheikh Zayed Hospital at Link road resulting in the death of Muhammad Qasim.

His body has been moved to Sheikh Zayed Hospital. Sources told that Muhammad Qasim was going to office police say that the incident may be the result of hostility, the investigation is still under progress, and nothing can be said before the investigations.

According to the postmortem report Mohammad Qasim had received four bullets in his chest, neck and head, relative of Mohammad Qasim said no one had any hostility, he has three children  sons and one daughter, he left one widow.

Customs officials told about Muhammad Qasim death, it is a big lost for us, Muhammad Qasim was a decent and honest officer, we all demand to law enforcement agencies arrest the killer of Muhammad Qasim as soon as possible.

Sources told that Qasim was performing his duty in Quetta Customs I&I for many years. According to evidence it is a target killing, but we are conducting investigations this case, FIR has been launched, and we are hopeful to arrest killers soon. His funeral prayer will be held in Quetta (today). Mohammad Qasim was serving in Custom Quetta for several years.

Quetta has experienced incidents of violence and targeted killings for over a decade. In recent months, the province has faced a number of security challenges, with security personnel in the province often being targeted in Quetta.
