KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to the customs officials and deputy attorney general, directing them to file their respective para-wise comments on a constitutional petition filed by M/s Ahmed Brothers (Private) Limited. In its petition, the company sought restoration of NTN blocked by customs authorities. A two-member bench, headed by Justice Munib Akhtar, was hearing the petition.

Earlier, counsel for the petitioner stated that it is engaged in the lawful business in the name and style of M/s Ahmed Brothers and never involved in any illegal activity. However, officials of the customs authorities issued a show cause notice and suspended its NTN without any legal formalities. The counsel argued that the company is seriously affected by the act of the customs officials and has incurred losses in its business.
