FBR surges sales tax on petroleum products

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), through SRO 98(I)/2018, has increased sales tax on petroleum products.

The FBR announced increase in sales tax rates for kerosene oil and light diesel oil to seven percent and 7.5 percent, respectively for the month of February 2018. During the month of January the sales tax rates on such products were six percent.

However, the sales tax rates on motor spirit and high speed diesel oil have been kept unchanged at 17 percent and 25.5 percent, respectively.
