Karachi markets remain closed to mourn Peshawar attack

KARACHI: All main markets, shopping centres and bazaars remained close on Wednesday on the call of All Karachi Traders Association and Anjuman-e-Tajraan Karachi to mourn the killing of 140 schoolchildren in terrorist attack on Peshawar school on the other day.

The traders’ unions took the decision to express solidarity with the grieving families who lost their love ones in the tragic incident. Prayer services were also held across the city for the departed souls.

The traders were of the view that the nation stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the grieving families and Pakistan Army.

Meanwhile, the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and other trade bodies while strongly condemning the Peshawar school attack decided to suspend the business activities on Wednesday to show solidarity with the army and the grieving families.
