Pakistan Post, NBP join hands to boost Digital Financial Services

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Post and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on Friday agreed to boost Digital Financial Services in the country and meet its targets.

In this regard, both the organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony which was attended by Minister for Postal Services, Moulana Amir Zaman Bukhari, President, National Bank of Pakistan, Saeed Ahmed and a number of NBP Executives and Postal Officers.

Addressing the ceremony, Amir Zaman Bukhari said Pakistan Post’s collaboration with NBP is in best interest of people.

He also highlighted salient features of MoU according to which NBP will install ATM Machines in major Post Offices across the country for quick transfer of home remittances, international remittances, and further improvement of disbursement of pension including introduction of Islamic Bank.

In her welcome address, Director General, Pakistan Post, Rubina Tayyab said Pakistan Post is prestigious public service department, serving the masses through a huge network of Post Offices with 50,000 postal work force.

She said Pakistan Post is currently working on an agenda of Financial Inclusion for provision of better digital financial and banking services. She termed the MoU a great step to serve cause of National Financial Inclusion Strategy. President NBP termed the MoU a historic occasion and said Pakistan Post will play a significant role with NBP to deliver banking services at doorstep.
