ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue has transferred/posted two Pakistan Customs Service officers of BS-20 with immediate effect and until further orders.
Dr Saifuddin Junejo has been transferred from the post of Collector, Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar and posted as Collector, Model Customs Collectorate of Exports (Port Muhammad Bin Qasim), Karachi.
Muhammad Yaqoob Mako, who was posted as Collector at MCC Exports Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Karachi, has been transferred to the post of Collector, MCC Gwadar.
Junejo had assumed charge as Collector, Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar with effect from January 29, 2018. He had taken charge of the post of Collector, Model Customs Collectorate, Quetta on August 18, 2017 after relinquishing charge of the post of Collector, Model Customs Collectorate (Preventive), Karachi in August 15, 2017.
The officer had relinquished the charge of the post of Collector, Model Customs Collectorate (Exports), Karachi on October 25, 2016 and assumed charge of the post of Collector, Model Customs Collectorate (Preventive), Karachi on the same date.
During the tenure of Dr Junejo as Collector Preventive, more than 592 seizure cases worth Rs 325m were reported just in six months. In these seizure cases, the staff apprehended currency worth Rs84 million, 7.578kg gold, gold jewellery worth Rs 33 million, 2544 mobile phones of assorted brands worth Rs 30 million, narcotics worth Rs170 million and more than 2,527 bottles of foreign origin alcohol worth Rs4.4 million.
Besides, the Air Freight Unit (AFU) of Customs Preventive Karachi also achieved the revenue collection target amounting to more than Rs 20 billion during the first six months of the current financial year.
Junejo had started working as Collector, MCC of Export, Customs House, Karachi on August 17, 2015 after relinquishing charge as Collector, Collectorate of Customs (Adjudication-II), Karachi on same date.
